Electrolysis

Electrolysis is the only true permanent hair removal method and the only permanent treatment recognized by the FDA.  For permanent hair removal, Electrolysis is the only solution.  It works almost anywhere on the body: face, legs, underarms, breasts, abdomen, back and bikini line.  It is effective on light or dark hair, as well as all skin tones.  Today's medical Electrolysis devices destroy the growth center of the hair with a short-wave radio frequency.  A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin.  The hair is then removed harmlessly with tweezers.

What causes unwanted hair growth?  Hair growth is the result of heredity and hormonal levels.   Also, some drugs, temporary methods of hair removal, and some illnesses can stimulate hair growth.  Hair growth is normally desirable, but when hair growth is on an unwanted part of your body --a woman's upper lip, chin, hands, arms, etc.-- you may want to consider Electrolysis.

How many treatments are required?  The number of necessary treatments varies with each client.  Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes to more than an hour depending on the area being treated.  It is important to follow the recommended treatment plan to achieve optimal results. 

Does Electrolysis have any side effects on the skin?  Immediately following treatment, there may be slight redness, the extent of which varies with each individual.  The latest technology has made Electrolysis more comfortable and effective than ever before.  Your Electrologist will provide you with post-treatment instructions and the personal attention you need.

Can unwanted hair be removed from anywhere on the body?  Electrolysis works on all skin and hair types.  It can be applied to most facial and body parts, including eyebrows, chin, upper and lower lip, jaw line, sideburns, breasts, underarms, abdomen, bikini line, legs and back.  After a personal and confidential consultation, your Electrologist will design a treatment plan that addresses your specific hair removal needs.

Can women receive Electrolysis treatments during pregnancy?  Unwanted hair growth can be caused by hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy.  While Electrolysis can be performed on any normal skin, it is suggested that you seek the advice of a physician before beginning treatment.
