Yoga
Join us at The Crestwood for our all-levels flow yoga classes held on property every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:00 PM. These professionally tough classes run for 1 hour at the drop-in rate of $15 per person. Contact our front desk for additional details (970-923-2450).
Scenic Drives
This is a DIY, choose your own adventure activity that lets you view the beauty of our mountains and valleys from your own windshield. Stop by our front desk to ask our concierge about the various day drive available from Snowmass. Not all roads are created equal, so make sure you have the appropriate vehicle for the adventure you select. Some of our favorites include Independence Pass, Castle Creek Road, Frying Pan Road and Marble.
Scenic Gondola Rides
For those wanting a fresh air experience, taking a trip up Snowmass Mountain via Elk Camp Gondola and Chairlift will place you at 11,325 feet with majestic views of the Maroon Bells. You can also ride up the Aspen Gondola to the top of Ajax for lunch at the Sundeck and views of Highlands Bowl, Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak. This is a great activity for groups of all ages. Lift tickets are required to ride up all gondolas/chairlifts and typically run from mid-June Labor Day and extended hours on weekends in May, September and October. Operating hours are from 10 AM to 3:30 PM on Snowmass and 10 AM to 4 PM on Aspen.
Golf/Tennis
Is it true that your golf ball will fly further at higher elevations? The answer is yes! There are numerous golf and tennis clubs throughout the Roaring Fork Valley offering beautiful mountain views and challenging course designs. Contact our concierge (970-923-2450) for a list of local golf courses and tennis clubs for you to consider during you next trip to Aspen/Snowmass.
Disc Golf
Snowmass Mountain offers (2) 18-hole disc golf courses to visitors in the summertime. A lift ticket is required to access the on-mountain courses, unless of course you are willing to hike up to the top of the gondola and play your way back down the mountain. Aspen Mountain also offers an 18-hole course from the top of Ajax. Golf discs are available for rent at Four Mountain Sports.
Horseback Riding
Snowmass is home to over 20 miles of equestrian trails. With various half-day, full-day and overnight trips available, you can choose your adventure. These trips will put you out in nature without the effort as you ride your steed into the wilderness surrounding Aspen Snowmass. Hot Air Ballooning
This unique adventure gives guests a bird’s eye view of the surrounding peaks and aspen groves from a tiny wicker basket over 2,000 feet from the ground. The peace and tranquility of a hot air balloon is unlike anything else you have experienced and is a must-do activity and a great way to celebrate a special occasion while visiting Snowmass. Also, be sure to check out the Snowmass Balloon Festival that occurs in September and often coincides with the peak fall colors. Paintball
Located on Snowmass Mountain, the outdoor paintball course is set amongst the aspen trees and provides a safe, fun and action-packed activity for kids 8 and older. You do need to set up a reservation to coordinate transportation up to the course and rental of all equipment required to play. Drop in rates start at $144 for a 2.5-hour game (including 300 paintballs). The course is also available for private functions. Contact Aspen Snowmass (970-923-8733) to book your reservations.
Jeep Tours
Jeep tours allow visitors to access some of the most beautiful off the beaten path locations in the Elk Mountain Wilderness without breaking a sweat. These jeeps provide guests with views of majestic peaks, beautiful lush mountain valleys and meadows full of the famous Colorado wildflowers. These professionally guided tours are a great way to see the most picturesque places in the Roaring Fork Valley. Rock Climbing
Not for the faint of heart, rock climbing offers a challenging activity for those looking to push themselves. World class climbing is available up Independence Pass for those who have experience and their own gear, but there are climbing walls for those looking for a more casual and controlled experience. There are two new climbing walls in Snowmass Village that provide access to both beginner an expert routes. The new 5-story climbing wall in the new Snowmass Base Village will provide guests with year-round climbing on the tallest indoor wall in North America! An additional wall atop Elk Camp Gondola gives visitors another activity when taking a trip up the Gondola.
